Walk Up, Run Down!

I ran into forty cows on the Bob Lake trail,
and they was headed down.
So I put my horse and dog in gear.
and turned them girls aroun'.

I told those cows as best I could,
that it wasn't time to come home yet,
but they scattered through the timber
kind of, playing hard to get.

I'm a brush poppin' Jack-pine Cowboy,
on that, make no mistake,
they gave us a run but we got 'er done,
moved them back up to Bob Lake.

Riding home,
with me, the horse and the dog, all spent,
as the light begins to fail,
I hear the far off howl of a timber wolf,
and the clatter of hooves...
down the Bob Lake Trail.
