Tuned Out

Self important experts,
chatter on my radio,
as I sip my morning Coffee,
pull on my boots, it's time to go.

I leave behind the senseless babble,
about the madness of our age,
drink in the smells of daybreak;
damp earth, pine, and sage.

Some folks rely on booze or drugs,
to escape their reality,
I just need a mountain trail,
and a good horse under me.
