St. Paddy Taylor's Budget

When I was but a tiny child,
a strange tale I was told,
about Leprechauns and rainbows,
and a mysterious pot of Gold!

Now the political "Shell game",
it's really nothing new,
while one hand picks your pocket,
the other gives a wee bit back to you.

So here we are at the rainbows end,
no treasure can be seen,
but there is a Lady Leprechaun
dressed head to toe in green.

To be sure she speaks in riddles,
as the legends all foretold,
if we be as green as green can be,
shall we find the pot of Gold?
